It doesn’t help that this heavily (and beautifully) gridded design encourages a certain amount of lock-step conformity. When you start to see other people’s words in place of your own, but all the lines and even most of the colors looking the same, it’s much less inspiring than this design was meant to be.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s an amazing design, and worth every penny, but I’m feeling less unique, and much less cool at the moment.

Ergh. Meh. Blurgh.

So how does it all connect and what does it all do?

I wish I didn’t have Facebook and Linkedin and Twitter and all that. Myspace, etc. I wish could have one hub. But people like to connect in different ways. I guess I imagine it works one of two ways.

1) One central site collects all the little pieces and I have fun communicating where I want to.

or

2) One central site disseminates to all the little pieces.

Or both? I mean, Tumblr collects twitter posts. That’s cool. Can it collect Facebook updates?

Then I can send blog here and send photos here in the “Where’s Slay” kind of way, and that’d be cool.

Maybe I want to design my own thing. Use expression engine. Could it collect twitter posts? Facebook? Why do I want to collect those?

I guess it’s a little like a photo album, I want to collect some memories.

I wouldn’t mind being a large-hearted boy or something like that. I just kind of go off on whatever. Artie does that, doesn’t he. Do people really read is blog, is he building an audience. Does he mean to? He’s putting on a show, isn’t he. For what purpose? To sell ads and make money? Maybe.

We all have the ability to build a cult of personality, we all have the possibility of a certain level of 15 minutes of fame. Though, big fame isn’t as big. You down burn as bright, but you can burn longer.

I guess if I really wanted to do it, I could start to build an audience, reading similar blogs and commenting. But does anyone read the general cultural-commentary blogs? Anyone? I don’t even read those, I look for useful information. I’m even a little ashamed at times of my penchant for pop-cultural commentary, right?

Elephants on wheels? What’s his thing?

Maybe I could be a “Columbus personality”. Someone relevant if you kind of know me or see me around, or get tangentially involved in my work. Blogging as an extension of building a more conscious and compassionate world. Building a community around that kind of thought, and those kind of people. Does IndieColumbus have room for that kind of thing? Maybe I should have a weekly column?

I know I want to:
1) Consolidate the blogs I have.
2) Including theatreforte.
3) have my own domain name
4) Including CBHH
5) Build my “brand”?

What’s Jon Myers up to? Why is he blogging? I guess he’s trying to build a Columbus community around social media connections, but what’s the end-game?

We connect and get to know each other and consolidate our energy so we can …. do some cool stuff in the city? Maybe. Maybe having a blog is a way to continue the energy of the shows.

Maybe AVLTHEATRE doesn’t need Twitter. In fact, it’d probably be easier for everyone if there were only one source for AVLT info. Then again, people like choices. It’d be easiest for us if it was all connected.

I thought a Theatreforte Twitter feed would be best for those “Delicious” links. Maybe not. Do people even want that?

I’m outta steam …

Do I want one. Kinda. I’m trying to figure out what to do with all this stuff. I’m trying to figure out what to do in the future.

What if I wanna write about my secret theory that KRS-One wrote LL Cool J’s best battle rap? Where can I put this? How will people know what I’m thinking? How can I get this stuff out of my head?

Do I wanna blog for me or do I want to blog for you? For who? Do I want an audience? I’m a little embarrassed that I do.

Maybe it’d be a good interface for fans of AVLT, another way for them to connect. Is a blog a way of marketing myself?

Theatrforte for theatre. CBHH for Comic books & Hip-Hop. Not like I’m trying to be part of those scenes. Mostly, I start blogs and get depressed about not using them.

This one is really and truly just for fun, and I don’t expect anyone to read it, after all this territory is well-covered elsewhere. Anyhoo …

I like comic books and hip-hop. A great summer afternoon would be sitting around blasting a good mixtape and reading a stack of Vertigo issues and Drawn & Quarterly books.

I have very few people around here to talk to about these obsessions, so I’m gonna put it on the internet and join the conversation there.

Can I kick it?

Fuck you. I’ma do it anyway.
